Alpine Design Tent Manual
Posted : admin On 24.02.2019Thankfully I was there this time to help out. Have spent 60 minutes trying to find a replacement to no avail. Called help line and only got buttons to press. We are very careful with our camping equipment. I have a 4 man tent I have used for 16 years, same price range, and still have all the same pieces.

Go for a better brand that is better built. We bought this tent directly at the store, on the store sign it said 10x8, after setting it about we discovered its only 9x8, We have gone to two differant stores and read the signs it stated 10x8. The nylon feels cheap, no zip windows, just open screening that you have to use the rain flap. Rain flap doesn't extend over the door flap. The tent poles are very flimsy. I can't say how much We hated the tent, we used one time and gave it away.
Designed with a large front vestibule for additional storage and shelter, this Alpine Design® Horizon 3 tent is perfect for small families or couples desiring extra space.
First a glued-in left sole floated away in the Yama River, Steamboat, Colo., where the hydraulic is located. Thinking the shoes were OK, I stepped on a rock in the river to get a grip, got swept backwards fast and banged my lower back hard on a pointed rock. It took 4 weeks to recover. When I examined the right foot, the second glued-in sole delaminated and Don't buy this. The stuffing rips out easily and the zipper broke just after a few months in light use. Without the zipper the bag is useless.
We camped for 6 months straight across America with this one too. So it has been used well over 300 times over the last 15 years.
I bought this tent to go on camping trips with my son. Our first outting was a good test for the new tent. We arrived at the campsite after dark and thus set the tent up for the first time in the dark by flashlight. Setup wasn't too difficult, though the instructions could be more detailed for stake placement.
The camping Alpine tent that we provide is made using high quality cotton canvas and it is water proof. It is mostly used in hilly areas as the snow will not settle on the tent and make it damp. It is easy to lay out and one need not use a manual to set it up. It is in the shape of a house and can accommodate a lot of people inside.
That's right, we make nothing but smiles and small batch beers around here and sell top notch sporting goods made by the most responsible and high quality brands we've found. In short: If you're having trouble with your Alpine Design product, you'll need to contact the Sports Authority. We ended up buying a Swisse Sport Yosemite-at a higher quality. Please don't waste your money, there are better products out there.Disappointing isn't strong enough!!!!
Mine didn't come with a rainfly so I can't use it during bad weather, but it definitely stays put in the wind and although you do have to stake it down I've never had a real problem with being about to do that. There was an instance where some of the stakes bent the ground was so hard, but that's I have had this Mesa 8 tent for 7-8 years and have never had a problem, except which way the rain fly goes. Have it marked now, front and back. I have had very good results with all Alpine Design gear, but these water sandals bought a few years ago, but little used, just fell apart.
(They fit two kids and two adults alright.) They get used often, and by first-time campers, but less than a year after we purchased them, two are broken. We are in an area that doesn't get rain often, so waterproofing isn't usually an issue, except with these tents. Even brand new, a heavy fog was enough to get puddles on the tent floor. I would definitely not recommend trying them in the rain. We have also not been able to get them back into the bags since we purchased them. The bags are just way to small. In short, they are better than nothing, but not by much.
Other than the water the tent was roomy, but not for 5 people. Three with a bit of gear or my son and I with our gear. It's also tall enough to use a cot. If the waterproofing was better this would be a good tent, but as is I'm really disappointed.
Other Alpine Design products made be made by other companies. Originally, Alpine Design of Boulder, Colo., was named, which was founded by George Lamb in the 1960s. You need to spend more, plain and simple. This tent is horrible. After opening and closing the door twice, the zipper pull tabs broke. Then the zippers started jamming.
I would not recommend this tent to anyone. Typical budget tent, easy to set up, overall cheap construction, but it keeps the bugs out and if it's not raining, you'll be fine. I paid [$] and that was a fair price for what you get. I've used it 4 x and no problems except for the one trip when it rained hard.
Tents are provided with sufficient pockets and loops to hang anything inside the tent. Complete with stuff sack, pegs, poles, cord and stoppers.
So if you've reached this page, you may be looking for Alpine Design, most likely looking for their warranty department. Alpine Shop Ltd does not manufacture anything.
This weekend camped with tent for second time. When we opened tent the elastic in ALL poles were severed and poles were in pieces. What a surprise after a 3.5 hour trip to the camp ground and after dark set up.
It is warm and cozy inside as it is weather proof including the harsh winds blowing in the hills and mountains. People who go for trekking in the Himalayas use these tents as they protect them in the rough terrain. We offer it in different sizes and people of all height can fit in.
Latest Reviews Recently purchased sandal different in price and design. Evidently 'Alpine Design' means good as a water shoe for the lake or sea. Don't know if i can recommend, but the price was right. Compact and easy to set up! I love love love the original Hiker Biker. I use it every time I go camping! The original model can easily fit two people and their stuff (so long as it's not a giant backpack).
I'm glad I got it on sale and didn't pay full price. We purchased 7 of these tents for an overnight kids program. They are advertised as 5 man tents, but we won't put more than 3 adults in them.

The front door is designed such that any rain that hits it runs into the tent; I was sitting in a puddle after 30 minutes of moderate rain. The pole hardware is not stainless, and rusted after the first use. When you try to take the tent down, the poles get stuck in the pole sleeves.I used a similarly priced Eureka tent for several years in worse conditions at the same campsite, and it never had problems like this. Sports Authority's in-house brand just does not cut it.
They need to put more money into the zipper! Most recently, the name 'Alpine Design' has been used by The Sports Authority for its house-brand camping gear. Sports Authority Alpine Design tents are manufactured.
I just recently came back from a good 5 day excursion in Northern Illinois, and the tent held up beautifully in the rain, with no leaks! The space was amazing inside. I had a twin mattress, and there was still room for one more and all my gear. Also, what I really liked about this tent which is hard to find in the smaller tents, is the air circulation. Even with the fly on, this tent really is great, allowing the air to circulate! Between that and waking up with a great view of the forest in front of me, this tent was wonderful, very easy to set up and take down (8 minutes to set up, 5 minutes to take down and roll into bag). I bought this tent for my son when he moved up to scouts a couple of months ago.
