They priced trade-ins lower then they normally would based on the fact that they weren't making any money on the car. It was really just a big inventory reduction sale. Even funnier is that dealerships didn't have to participate in the program. They had the choice to participate fully or not at all. Based on all the advertising though, it'd be suicide not to.
